Role Title: Volunteer Receptionist
Location of Position: Brainwave - Marsh Lane, Huntworth Gate, Bridgwater, Somerset. TA6 6LQ
Responsible to: HR Manager
Purpose/Summary of Role: Be the first port of call for visitors, answer the door and phone, take messages and carry out basic administrative tasks.
Description of Tasks:
  • Welcome visitors & service users
  • Answer the telephone and redirect calls to appropriate members of staff and take messages
  • Provide general administration support including photocopying, collating face sheets and booklets, mailings and helping with publicity and events.
Time Commitment:
  • To cover lunchtime on regular day/s each week
  • There will be a trial period of 1 month
  • This is expected to be an on-going role
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to work on own initiative and without close supervision
  • Friendly & welcoming manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Methodical approach
  • Good IT skills, including Word, Outlook & Excel
  • Understanding of issues around confidentiality
  • Willingness to undertake any other duties and training, as reasonably requested
Training & Support:
  • You will be given an induction to the organisation and full training on all aspects of the work
  • On-going training and support will be given, as requested
  • Regular updates on organisational activity
  • Support, advice and guidance from manager
