Volunteer Handyperson Organisation overview: Brainwave is a charity that exists to help children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence by aiming to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies. Role Title: Handyperson Location of Position: Brainwave South West Centre - Marsh Lane, Huntworth Gate, Bridgwater, Somerset. TA6 6LQ Responsible to: Maintenance Manager Purpose/Summary of Role: Working as part of a team, dealing with on-going low-level maintenance to help with the upkeep, development and protection of the building and grounds. Description of Tasks: Helping out with the general upkeep: Minor repairs Small diy plumbing jobs including fixing dripping taps Small decorating tasks such as putting up pictures and painting Moving items within and between offices Odd jobs across the buildings which may include jobs such as unblocking sinks, hanging blinds or mirrors, changing tap washers, replacing batteries in smoke alarms, building flat pack furniture or even changing a light bulb.
