The Gracious Art Project raises £119,000 for Brainwave On 21 March this year, an auction of unique paintings were sold at Christie’s auction house by Gracious Heart Foundation in aid of Brainwave and two other charities. The project saw 12 world-famous artists collaborating with 12 children with cerebral palsy to create paintings that would go on to raise £330,000. Of this total, an incredible £119,000 was donated to Brainwave and will support each of the six children that took part in the project, with the remaining portion helping to fund our three therapy centres and therapists. The Gracious Art Project was organised not only to raise money but also to raise awareness of cerebral palsy. It showcased the potential of all 12 children, with the artists helping to release and reveal their creative talents. Our thanks go in particular to the six artists that worked with our children: Alexey Firsov, Philip Colbert, Romain Froquet, Nick Gentry, Omar Hassan and Lucy Freud. Phil Edge, Brainwave CEO said: "The fantastic sum of £119,000 will make a significant difference in helping Brainwave to support the children that attend our therapy centres and will help them to achieve life changing goals. It is one of the largest donations that Brainwave has ever received. We are so proud of the children who created such wonderful pieces of artwork and we are grateful to the Gracious Heart Foundation for choosing to support Brainwave. Thank you to everyone that was involved in the project." We’re delighted to announce that the Gracious Heart Foundation will be holding their next the auction in 2020 in support of Brainwave.
