The Promenade in Southport was truly a day to ‘be by the seaside’ with the sun shining as 500 guests took their seats for what was to be an afternoon full of musical treats.

The Grand Summer Pops concert held by the renowned Southport Orchestra included guest flutist Jane Pembleton-Smyth and pianist Tom Kimmance.  The first half included popular pieces by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Chopin allowing Jeff Cotterill, Musical Director to show off the orchestra’s considerable talent and versatility.  Following the interval the audience were entertained with a musical trip through the iconic soundtracks of James Bond, Chicago and Frozen.

Amongst the guests at the performance were 4 families currently following a Brainwave Therapy Programme, Carole Headley Development Manager and Sally Preston, Family Facilitator at Brainwave.  Sally’s daughter, Natalie who is one of Brainwave’s biggest success stories spoke about her experiences and brought the applauding audience to their feet.

Further music to our ears is the news that the concert raised £5,300.00 to help local families to attend the Brainwave Centre.

Brainwave thanks everyone involved in the musical extravaganza, the sponsors and the audience for their support.
