Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy is a surgical procedure that children with diplegic cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy mainly affecting their lower limbs) can be offered to help manage their condition.  Children who have undergone Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery will require significant physiotherapy input to help them on their journey to rehabilitation.

Post-SDR rehabilitation sessions are only available at our South West Centre in Bridgwater, Somerset.

We offer a 3 day assessment which includes:

  • One-to-one physiotherapy sessions
  • Provision of a home exercise programme
  • A DVD demonstrating the home exercises
  • Gait re-education
  • Hydrotherapy (6 weeks post operation)
