Congratulations to Mark Tuckley for doing the Gran Fondo 42 mile bike ride in North Wales on 23rd April, he has not only achieved a personal goal but also exceeded his financial goal for Brainwave of £400. We would like to thank the generosity of the CPM and NDC staff for supporting Mark and Brainwave. The Company will make a donation and match the final amount raised from Mark’s private donations.

Mark put in a total training of 56 miles to prepare for the race over a few days cycling to work.
The Thursday before the race his friend offered him his road bike to do the ride instead of the mountain bike that he already had, Mark took it round the block to test it was working. Then of course comes the night before the race, he could not sleep so he stayed up to watch the boxing, the adrenalin started so sleep was not coming. Mark left the house at 5:30am to make his way to Conway in Wales to register and get himself ready, with Team Sky passing him on the way to the start line he was now thinking this is serious!!!

There were many hills on route the worst and hardest part of the ride being a 16km uphill stretch in the Welsh hills.
