Brainwave is a long-established national charity which helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence by aiming to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential through a range of educational and physical therapies.  The children we work with have a range of conditions including autism, brain injuries such as cerebral palsy and genetic disorders such as Down’s syndrome.  Our highly skilled team of therapists work from bespoke centres in Somerset, Cheshire and Essex, plus satellite clinics in London and Scotland, to unlock the potential of each child and provide each family with a tailor-made programme to continue at home.

Our capable and effective fundraising team, which is spread across the three centres, has an excellent network of corporate, community and individual supporters together with a comprehensive programme of long-standing and new events which generate significant funds to support our work.

Key to our continued success is the new appointment of a Head of Fundraising who, reporting to the Chief Executive and as a member of the Senior Management Team, will determine the strategy and lead the operations of our national fundraising, communications and marketing activity.   This will involve the successful candidate in a broad range of challenging responsibilities including identifying and securing fundraising revenue from a full spectrum of sources, major event management, leading and motivating our fundraising team, and leading the development of all aspects of marketing and communication.

We are looking for a high calibre fundraising professional with a breadth of experience who has worked at a senior level within a multi-site charity who also possesses a sound understanding of effective marketing and communications.  Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.   There will be the need to travel on a regular basis including dividing time between our Bridgwater head office and leading fundraising activity in London, plus regular visits to our other centres and events.
