Due to the current unprecedented situation surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) and the steps that we anticipate the government will be taking soon, around public gatherings, it seems very unlikely that we will be permitted to proceed with this event and therefore can confirm that regrettably, The Manchester Duck Race 2020 event has now been cancelled.

This event has taken place for the last 10 years on Good Friday in Manchester, it draws big crowds and raises vital funds for Brainwave. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported our charity at this event over the years.

However, our priority will always be the health and wellbeing of our wonderful supporters, volunteers, and staff and we would not intentionally put anyone at risk.

This is a very difficult time for charities and businesses, and we are asking for your continued support to help Brainwave limit the impact that the cancellation of this event will have on our charity.

To this end, while we will not be racing the ducks this year, we will be continuing with the highly coveted Best Dressed Corporate Duck competition! Voting will take place through an online poll and we'll be sharing the entries through our social media pages. We've added a second and third prize category to this competition and we're excited about what our corporate participants will create.

In the meantime, if you would like to be refunded for your duck purchase, please call us on 01278 429089 or email [email protected]

We hope you understand the reasons surrounding our decision, we thank you for your continued support and we aim to be back, both bigger and better in 2021!
