Five Brainwave shops are closing due to restrictions on retail Posted 22 January 2021 - Updated 5 March 2021 to include the Wilton shop It is with regret that we are announcing the permanent closure of five of our retail shops: Taunton Beaminster Ottery St Mary Stalbridge Wilton This is a direct result of the pandemic and subsequent Government restrictions on non-essential retail that were introduced in March 2020. As a result, our retail income has reduced by a staggering 35%. This has forced us to make some very difficult decisions and assess which of our retail shops will be viable in what is and will continue to be a very difficult high street landscape. We know this will be disappointing news, however, these difficult decisions are being made to protect the future of our charity. We have exhausted all other options up until this point and these closures come as a last resort. We are in touch with the staff and volunteers at these shops and want to thank them for their support and dedication to Brainwave. We also want to thank our supporters – everyone that has donated to these shops or has been a customer of ours. By supporting our retail shops, you have helped us transform the lives of children with disabilities. The rest of our retail shops are due to reopen from 12 April 2021. You can view the full list of our shops and their scheduled reopening dates here Thank you for your continued support.
