32 teams made up of local businesspeople had fundraising firmly in their sights at children’s charity Brainwave’s annual shooting event.

Now in its 10th year, the Cheshire Shoot was once again hosted by the Irlam Family at the stunning grounds of Colshaw Hall on Thursday 19 September.

The event saw the guests taking on a range of challenges across nine different activity stands throughout the day including the Flying Gnats and Star Shots, with prizes awarded to the winning participants. Following the shoot, guests enjoyed a three-course meal courtesy of Barretts and had the opportunity to take part in a fundraising raffle and auction.

Event organiser and Brainwave Fundraiser, Carole Headley said: “As always, our annual Cheshire shoot went off with a bang! All our teams had so much fun in the glorious setting of Colshaw Hall and everyone was so supportive of our raffle and auction, too. The money is still coming in but so far we have raised over £40,000 which is just incredible!”

Brainwave is a UK national children’s charity that helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence. The charity does not receive any government funding and relies on voluntary donations to run its three permanent centres in Somerset, Essex and Warrington.

Carole went on to say: “The money raised from this event will truly make a difference to the children and families we see at Brainwave.

“I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the event such a success, including: our wonderful hosts, the Irlam family at Colshaw Hall; our fantastic sponsors, Clogau Gold of Wales, Investec and NSS Group; on the day support from BASC; our programme sponsors CBRE and  Solid Ground; and of course our event organisers, Hyperion and Clay Pigeon Events.

“This is the 10th year we have put on this event and from all the families, staff and volunteers at Brainwave we would like to send a big thank you to everyone that attended, supported this event and generously donated on the day. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!”
