If you go down to the woods today...you’re sure of a big surprise.

I certainly was! I arrived at Somerset Drainage Board Consortiums Offices in Highbridge to find a wonderful few hours of fundraising activities awaited me!

Welcomed by Carrie-Anne and Kendra and quickly made to feel at home while I helped with the setting up before everyone joined us for the Picnic!

For the first time, I've seen a digger challenge. I did wonder how they’d fit a full size digger in the local car park but, I was taken into the Boardroom and found it was a toy digger with a variety of obstacles – very ingenious I thought and it made the day so much fun.

There was queue to have your photo taken in the photo booth (I joined in too in the back right). We, of course, know that we are Superhero’s with our fundraising efforts.

Food and drink was provided by the staff and a variety of activities were laid out for people to participate in. They were all so competitive! They couldn’t be outdone and kept entering “play your cards right” with a hive of excitement surrounding this activity.

When it came time for me to go, I was saddened to leave such a wonderful group of people who had made me feel so welcome. They were all so empowered by the work of the charity that they have raised over £1,100 which will go to buy equipment that we are in need of at our South West Centre.

Thank you everyone, you are amazing people who have raised an amazing amount of money to help the children.
