Early morning and Colshaw Hall was an excited blur of waxed jackets, chatter, cartridge sales, coffee and bacon rolls as 27 teams congregated for registration at Brainwave’s 8th Annual Clay Shoot.

Then they were away, out to the field, once again expertly designed and managed by Promatic and preparations began for a drinks reception, canapes and sumptuous lunch.

Whilst enjoying a glass of prosecco, shooters readily took part in the ‘cartridge raffle’ keen to win one of the many high end prizes kindly donated by companies both local and further afield.

Lunch was a chance to catch up with familiar faces, meet other Brainwave supporters, exchange shooting tales and award performances.  We are indebted to our guest speakers Brainwave Family Facilitator Sally Preston, parent Ian Stewart and Natalie Preston who follows a Brainwave programme.

Our generous supporters threw themselves into the auction, expertly managed by esteemed auctioneer Mike Litherland. It was wonderful to see some prize packages, including a luxury weekend in Cannes donated by James Lugg of Folio, donated more than once helping to maximise the money raised.

Bob Dyson, North West Development Group Chairman who had led proceedings closed the event and we echo his thanks to all those who took part, donated prizes, their expertise and time.  Particular thanks goes to our sponsors Investec, High Access, Clogau Gold and Robinsons Brewery.

This corporate day shoot had it all (including the weather!)……a warm welcome, challenging stands, expertly managed, an impressive location, high end hospitality….and a heart.  We are thrilled to say we raised £42,000 with all monies raised helping children follow a Brainwave programme.
