Brainwave in Schools

From here, you can learn all about Brainwave, what happens at our Centres and the exercises that we teach the children.

We also have some stories, games and fun activities to share with you.

For pupils

Follow this link and read about Milly and Nathan's first day at school or have fun with word games.

For Primary School Teachers in Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Dorset only

We offer a free, fifteen minute Assembly for your Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils to help you meet specific aspects of the SEAL and PSHE syllabus under the headings of citizenship, emotional health & wellbeing, and personal finance.

We will demonstrate some of the equipment used and invite your pupils to have a go too!

By raising awareness, we can help your pupils gain a better understanding of other children with different needs from their own. Children are the potential carers and responsible citizens of tomorrow and by sharing our skills and knowledge we hope they will gain a greater understanding of life within a Charity like Brainwave.

For an informal discussion about your needs, please contact Paul Smith on 01278 726927 or email .

"I will always be grateful. You took the time to listen and showed me ways that I could help my daughter. You gave me the confidence that I could do something myself to help and was not just waiting for something to happen. "

DOWN SYNDROME TESTIMONIAL - EMMA

I think Brainwave is brilliant. I'd been looking for this type of help, and although it took me three years, I know I've found it.

The therapists are fantastic; they are so supportive. At the Initial Assessment, they really gave us hope and made us feel there is something we can do to help Emma. They were there to help us, and to teach us how to help Emma.

So many people you see suggest that you do a bit of this, or that you do that, it can become quite mind-boggling. To have a clear and structured programme written down in a simple list that you know is addressing all her areas of development, is brilliant. You know then that you're doing as much as you can.

Although Emma had just taken a few steps when we started Brainwave a couple of months ago, I still can't quite get my head around seeing her walking about now. We started with working on her balance, and now she's doing so well.
