You will be ‘allocated’ a child who is following a Brainwave Programme, in that you’ll be told their Christian name, age and diagnosis and the County in which they live (you can choose a child local to your Company if you wish). You will understand that it’s not possible to meet the family, but every six months, you’ll be sent an update by us on the child’s progress and a Newsletter which can be shared with your Colleagues at work or other family members.
You and your employees can therefore become personally involved, unlike other forms of giving. Your funding will be ‘ring fenced’; it won’t be spent on administration or fundraising overheads – it will all go to help ‘your’ child achieve its potential.
£3,500 is the annual cost to Brainwave of supporting each of the 550 children on programme, so you will understand how valuable your contribution will be.
We would be delighted to welcome you at one of our Centres, if you would like to see our facilities first hand.
Please contact Margaret Preece on 01278 429089 or e-mail margaretpreece@brainwave.org.uk for more details.

Benefits
In addition, if you are a UK tax payer your donation can go even further with Gift Aid. For example, donate £400 as a 40% rate tax payer. Brainwave receives £500 but the cost to you after tax relief is £300.
One can also become a Champion through smaller regular donations through Payroll Giving at your workplace or direct debit, or raising funds by taking part in a Brainwave challenge event.
If you are interested in becoming a Champion, or would like to get involved in any other way, please contact Rachel Farrow: E: rachelfarrow@brainwave.org.uk T: 07872 548 449
To provide a child and their parents with a personalised therapy Programme, all the equipment they will need and on-going home support, costs Brainwave £3,500 a year. A Guardian is an individual, corporate or Trust which supports the full £3,500.00 for a child which they will receive regular personalised updates on.
If you’re an individual you can gift aid a donation of £2,800 and Brainwave can reclaim the full amount of £3,500.
And as a high tax payer at 40% a donor can reclaim £700, making the real cost £2,100;
Or as a higher tax payer at 50% a donor can reclaim £1,050, making the real cost £1,750.
As a Brainwave Guardian you receive regular updates on your sponsored Brainwave Child and exclusive invitations to special events. It’s our way keeping you involved in what we
do, and of saying thank you for being there for us – and for the families and children who rely on us.
Jamie Matheson, Executive Chairman of Brewin Dolphin, who has been a Guardian for 2 years, said: ‘Being a Guardian has allowed me not only to make a difference to a little one’s life but to their parent in a way I did not think was possible’.
