| Opening of Brainwave's new Centre in Birchwood Warrington. |
On the 18th November 2009, HRH The Countess of Wessex formally opened Brainwave's new Centre in Birchwood Warrington.
National charity Brainwave provides home based therapy programmes for children with cerebral palsy and other conditions such as development delay.
Almost fifty guests, supporters, families and staff were present to see The Countess unveil a commemorative plaque. Amongst the guests were HM The Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire and his wife, Mrs William Bromley Davenport; The High Sheriff of Cheshire and the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington.
Christine Cryne, Brainwave's Chief Executive Officer, said "Her Royal Highness has been Brainwave's President for around six years. She is a great supporter and Her presence has added a touch of magic to what was a very special occasion for us. This new Centre has increased our capacity and will make it much easier for families in the North to access our services".
The new Centre boasts two therapy rooms, a family room with a kitchen and a state of the art sensory room with an interactive floor. The building was chosen for the Centre due to its easy links both by road and rail, being a five minute walk from Birchwood Station.

"What we appreciated was your honesty. Although you said you couldn't make Kieran better, you gave us HOPE that Kieran could improve. This we valued and still do… We can't thank you enough for all the support you gave us. We always say Kieran would not have achieved what he has today, and we would not have been as positive without the hope you instilled in us."
