About Brainwave Page

Thanks to its many supporters and dedicated therapy teams, the Charity now impacts on the lives of over 600 children with additional needs. Brainwave’s growth and regional outreach has been driven by the commitment to bring measurable improvements to the lives of children with physical, sensory, learning, cognitive and behavioural difficulties. Brainwave works with children with a wide range of conditions and developmental needs; including, cerebral palsy, genetic conditions, Down’s syndrome, autism and developmental delay.

A key success of Brainwave has been the ability to recognise the impact having a child with additional needs has on their family and empowering them to deliver therapy to their child at home. Brainwave assessments equip parents and carers with the necessary skills through the teaching of individually tailored programmes. Continuous support from the team and regular assessments with skilled therapists means that Brainwave is able to adjust the therapy required as the child grows and progresses, meaning that support is available for as long as needed.

In 2012 Brainwave celebrated its 30th anniversary with a clear and simple vision for the future; to continue to positively impact on, and support the lives of, children and their families with special needs across the UK and Ireland at our three centres.  We also have satellite clinics in Scotland and a London satellite clinic which launched in May 2016.
